MASTER AND TEACHER OF THE ART OF KINTSUGI
Showzi is an award-winning artist who has been practicing the traditional Japanese craft of kintsugi since 1972. His pieces have been exhibited in Paris and other international cities.
He has been passing on the craft, training apprentices for the last 20 years in Japan. Now one of his passions is to share this traditional art and skills with the world.

Showzi's passion is to spread the authentic traditional method of Kintsugi, using the Makie (蒔絵) technique. Creating a Kintsugi piece usually takes months; however, he has started a special 3 days experience for travelers where they can learn basic know-how of the craft, partnering with Airbnb. Come along on a journey where you can encounter the fascinating art and history of Kintsugi from an experienced master of the craft. Try your hand at the kintsugi process and take home your own piece of finished Kintsugi pottery, lovingly mended with Japanese lacquer (Urushi) and 24k gold.
